Welcome to Kington Baptist Church!
We are a small, friendly congregation, we love and trust the Lord Jesus Christ, believe his Word and with his help aim to live for him in love and service.
Kington is a market town in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK, on the England-Mid-Wales border. Kington Baptist Church has maintained a witness to God's grace in the gospel since 1809. And, trusting in Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, we are determined to continue our witness.
We are a friendly, welcoming company of believers; from a variety of backgrounds, life experiences and ages, sharing a common faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. We hold the Bible to be God's inspired and authoritative written Word and Jesus Christ as God's living Word.
We meet at 10.45 each Sunday morning. Our services are friendly, simple and short followed by tea and coffee and an opportunity to chat.
We promise you a warm welcome when you visit us.
A Moving Announcement
With our church building in Kington having to be sold we have decided to hold our Sunday morning service in Lyonshall Memorial Hall. Initially this will be for a two month trial period, beginning on Sunday 12th April until the end of May. Our service will then begin at 11 am.
In view of unsustainable costs of maintenance it was our unanimous decision to sell our building in Kington. Relying on the faithful leading and provision of the Lord Jesus Christ, the head of the Church, we are determined to continue the ministry and mission he commissioned us to fulfil. It is our hope that in due time we will be able to secure a new permanent church home in Kington.
We are deeply grateful for the kind support we are receiving from the congregations of the Kington churches of St Mary's and St Bede's.

Psalm 122.1
The Wall Text Above the Pulpit in Kington Baptist Church
This is the verse of Scripture facing us as we meet to worship. It was painted on the wall behind the pulpit many years ago and is still in pristine condition. We are not sure exactly when it was placed there or by whom. We'd be delighted to know more about those details. It would be difficult to find a more appropriate Scripture to have before us as we meet in the Lord's name. The wonder of God's grace! - as these words expressed the desire of the Psalmist as he anticipated meeting with the Lord's people, to worship in the Lord's house, so these words express our desire too as we meet in the Lord's name and with his people. 'Jesus, where'er Thy people meet, there they behold Thy mercy-seat'!...
